LoL Korea Challengers Spring

Griffin vs CJ Entus – 0 : 2

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 1

Griffin CJ Entus
Sword – Rumble Soul – Maokai
Yonghon – Rengar Winged – Graves
Rather – Casseopia Candy – Corki
Force – Ezrael Veritas – Caitlyn
Shield – LuLu Pure – Malzahar

HIGHLIGHTS:

CJ Entus as the heavy favorites looked great starting the game, but Griffin proved that they can hang in there with the #1 team.  Despite Griffin’s best efforts to hold off the enemy team, CJ Entus chipped away at the game slowly, gaining more and more of a lead due to objectives.  Approximately around the 35-minute mark, the score was 8-9 kills, but the gold lead was an incredible 13k gold lead for CJ Entus, showing how dominant they were with every other aspect of the game.  Inevitably, Griffin begin to crumble being so far behind in gold, and CJ Entus close out the game with a final push with Baron to give them a ‘w’ for game 1 of the series.

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 2

CJ Entus Griffin
Soul – Maokai Sword – Fiora
Winged – Lee Sin Yonghun – Khazix
Candy – Corki Rather – Syndra
Veritas – Jhin Force – Ashe
Shield – Karma Pure – Tahm Kench

HIGHLIGHTS:

At the start of game 2, things were looking great for CJ Entus once again, as they were able to out farm their lane opponents and slowly gain a gold lead.  Following up the lane phase, CJ Entus used their gold lead to their advantage starting to pick Griffin apart, stacking kills, controlling objectives and dominating team fights.  With Griffin unable to come up with an answer to the pressure, CJ Entus dominate once again, getting yet another 2-0 sweep, keeping them at the #1 spot of the challenger’s spring season.

I Gaming Star vs Team BattleComics – 2 : 1

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 1

I Gaming Star Team BattleComics
Patrick – Poppy Abmi – Maokai
Natu – Lee Sin U Jun – Reksai
Dove – Corki Fact – Syndra
Hollow – Varus Benedict – Jhin
Plankton – Janna Joker – Thresh

HIGHLIGHTS:

Team BattleComics start off well, securing the first 2 kills of the game and take first blood turret.  BattleComics have been in a struggle to climb up the seasons ladder, yet to earn their first win for the season.  In game one of the series, BtC looked more focused and coordinated in comparison to previous games we’ve seen this season.  For I Gaming Star, the game seemed to be one of their off nights, getting picked apart, unable to secure any objectives and getting dismantled during team fights.  A small light of hope seemed to present itself for IGS, as Team BattleComics overstayed their welcome in IGS’ base, and a very messy fight broke out where IGS capitalized and managed to bring themselves back, but only for a moment.  IGS’ moment of glory was soon shattered by BtC, as they put the nail in the coffin after securing Baron, and push for game, ending their long losings spree.

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 2

Team BattleComics I Gaming Star
Abmi – Poppy Patrick – Sion
U Jun – Elise Natu – Lee Sin
Fact – Syndra Dove – Corki
Benedict – Jhin Hollow – Varus
Joker – Malzahar Plankton – Tahm Kench

HIGHLIGHTS:

IGS seemed refocused in game 2, coming out strong against Team BattleComics, who left IGS with a very sour taste in their mouth from the previous game of the series.  I Gaming Star look to make short work of their opponents, as they manage to sit comfortably with a 9 kill lead 24-minutes into game #2.  With no answer to IGS’ intense pressure, BtC  get dominated in all aspects of the game, struggling to regain any type of control and eventually fall in a very convincing defeat to I Gaming Star.

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 3

I Gaming Star Team BattleComics
Patrick – Nautilus Abmi – Camille
Natu – Rengar U Jun – Elise
Dove – Syndra Fact – Casseopia
Hollow – Caitlyn Benedict – Jhin
Plankton – Tahm Kench Joker – Malzahar

HIGHLIGHTS:

With the series split 2 games apiece, both teams seemed to play a bit safely looking for the respective team to make a mistake they can capitalize on.  The first advantage went to I Gaming star as they were able to coordinate their team fights a lot better and have better positioning in most engagements.  Despite the messiness of the fights, IGS composed themselves and managed to find the better position on the map, opposed to BtC commonly finding themselves in a bad situation, and often split up due to the chaos.  The lack of solid positioning, and poor communication from BtC soon led to their demise, getting ace’d twice in a row, and losing the 3rd and final game of the series.  IGS close the series out hard, and take the series 2-1.

EVER 8 vs. APK PRINCE – 2:0

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 1

EVER 8 Winners APK PRINCE
Helper – Maokai Cube – Shen
Malrang  – Graves Hoglet – Lee Sin
Cepted – Syndra DO IT – Ryze
Deul – Ezrael DAN – Jhin
Ella – Karma Nova – Soraka

HIGHLIGHTS:

EVER 8 start off strong, and seem to play flawlessly against a struggling APK PRINCE.  Malrang’s jungle play seemed to be too hard for APK to deal with, and applied pressure all over the map setting up kills for his team, snowballing EVER 8 them to the shortest game in the Challengers Spring Season at 24 minutes.  EVER 8 takes game 1 with ease, and looks great going into game 2.

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 2

APK PRINCE EVER 8 Winners
Cube – Maokai Helper – Shen
Hoglet – Rengar Malrang – Graves
DO IT – Orianna Cepted – Ahri
DAN – Jinx Deul – Sivir
Nova – Soraka Ella – Karma

HIGHLIGHTS:

Early into the game, APK PRINCE made a couple rookie mistakes that gave them a difficult game ahead of them as EVER 8 was looking focused and coming off a very flawless game 1.  As things were looking great for EVER 8 once again, a team fight broke out in top side jungle, where EVER 8 got a kill on DO IT, but as APK PRINCE collapses in response to EVER 8’s engagement, APK manages to score an ace, turning the game around to their favor.  Unable to hold onto their lead, APK PRINCE try to contest a Baron and things turn for the worst for APK.  An overextended “DO IT” seemed to be the turning point once again at Baron with EVER 8 jumping on DO IT and taking out the rest of APK PRINCE one by one.  EVER 8 Winners carry their momentum all the way to the end of the game, closing the series with a 2-0 on APK PRINCE.

BPZ vs. CJ ENTUS – 0:2

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 1

BPZ CJ ENTUS
MONG – Jayce Soul – Sion
Once – Graves Winged – Lee Sin
Cheong – Syndra Candy – Corki
Tak2 – Caitlyn Veritas – Ashe
Lehends – Taric Pure – Karma

HIGHLIGHTS:

For game 1 of the series, the first notable fight went to CJ Entus, Veritas was able to land a great Ashe arrow at BPZ’s backline, picking apart the rest of BPZ and scoring the first clear advantage of the game.  The power house team, CJ Entus, control majority of the game, with BPZ only being able to stay on the defensive, eventually falling due to CJ Entus’ hard pressure.  CJ Entus go on to continue their undefeated streak, having only lost 1 game at the start of the season.

CHAMPION PICKS: GAME 2

CJ ENTUS BPZ
Soul – Camille MONG – Renekton
Winged – Lee Sin Once – Graves
Candy – Corki Cheong – Syndra
Veritas – Jhin Tak2 – Ashe
Lehends – Malzahar Pure – Miss Fortune

HIGHLIGHT:

It doesn’t take CJ Entus too long to get things going for themselves, as Winged was able dictate the pace of the game due to his phenomenal Lee Sin Jungle play.  BPZ saw a brief light of hope during laning phase when they scored first blood onto Soul and first blood tower, but things started spiraling down for BPZ, once Winged began to tear them up.  With full control of the map, Winged and the rest of CJ Entus close the game out convincingly, completely blowing BPZ out of the water in game 2 and ending the series 2-0.

Split Rankings
1. CJ Entus 7-0 13-1
2. Ever8 Winners 6-1 13-4
3. Griffin 3-3 7-7
4. I Gaming Star 3-4 8-9
4. APK Prince 3-4 6-9
6. BPZ 2-4 6-9
6. Rising Star Gaming 2-4 4-9
8. Team BattleComics 0-6 2-12
